By the end of this course, students will be able to:
explain what the Web is and the challenges involved in designing and developing Web systems;
analyze and understand how websites and Web applications work;
understand and explain the key concepts related to the conception, implementation and deployment of Web systems;
design and implement Web systems by integrating a set of coherent features to meet identified needs;
learn new Web technologies and concepts.
This course has the following objectives for students:
raise awareness of the complexity of Web systems and the extensive capabilities offered by Web technologies;
acquire the basic skills required to analyse, understand, design and implement Web systems;
provide the basic knowledge needed for self-learning within the Web ecosystem;
This course is composed of the following parts:
This course is structured along three teaching methods:
lectures covering theoretical aspects;
exercises carried out in practical sessions and on the WebCampus platform;
a project carried out throughout the quarter.
The final grade of this course is divided in two parts:
an oral defense of the project;
an oral exam related both to the theoretical concepts covered in the lectures and exercises explored during practical .
Both the oral defense and the oral exam must be passed to pass this UE.
Unless agreed by the teacher, the oral defense of the project cannot be undertaken in the second session if it has not been presented in June.
