Launched in March 2011, Pluri-LL aims to serve as a catalyst to foster and coordinate collaboration among academics and scientists conducting research in various fields of multilingualism.

Pluri-LL's research focuses on both intralinguistic and extralinguistic factors in multilingual contexts, primarily in Europe and, on occasion, in other multilingual contexts around the world (North America, emerging and developing countries).

Research areas

  • language policy and planning, primarily among indigenous linguistic minorities in Europe;
  • multilingualism and intergroup relations;
  • the issue of translation as a zone of interaction between languages and cultures.

With this last focus, Pluri-LL aims to bridge the gap between the linguistic study of multilingualism and the literary studies approach to translation in relation to this phenomenon.

Furthermore, the two “L”s refer to the dual linguistic and literary approach to multilingualism.
