FaSEF provides theoretical and practical training in preparation for the CAPAES (Certificate of Aptitude for Teaching in Higher Education) for teachers employed under contract in a university or in higher education for social advancement outside the teaching categories.

Information about CAPAES

Target audience

CAPAES is a mandatory certificate, organized by decree by the FWB, which allows teachers already working in a college or in higher education for social advancement to obtain an appropriate teaching qualification.

This requirement is set out in Circular 9021 of September 7, 2023.

PLEASE NOTE! In the case of teachers in educational categories who teach pedagogy, didactics, or training in and through practice, the required qualification is a Master's degree in teacher training (MSFE).

Organization

We organize the CAPAES in collaboration with the ITN in Namur.

The schedule is spread over one year and consists of evening classes only (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Please note that spreading the course over several years is no longer possible following the Paysage decree.

An integrated assignment based on your professional practice must be submitted at the end of the training. It constitutes the major part (pedagogical component) of the professional dossier required to obtain the certificate.
