DeFFiP training on Academic writing
The DeFiPP institute is organizing a short doctoral course on Academic Writing, open to PhD students and other researchers at the University of Namur.
This course will be taught by Kristin Blanpin (KULeuven).
PhD students will earn 4 credit points and will also receive an attendance certificate. For this, it is compulsory that you attend ALL the sessions of this course and participate in the activities requested by the instructor (e.g. submit requested texts, evaluate the text of others etc).
During the training, the following topics will be covered :
- Session 1: Tue 30 May, 10.00-13.00 | Improving academic style
- Session 2: Tue 6 June, 10.00-13.00 | Writing an introduction and literature review
- Session 3: Tue 13 June, 10.00-13.00 | Writing a methods, results and discussion section
- Session 4: Tue 20 June, 10.00-13.00 | General and individual feedback
- Session 5: Tue 27 June, 10.00-13.00 | Writing for a general audience (e.g social media)
Practical information
- Participation fee: €200
Prior to registration, the interested PhD students and researchers are encouraged to discuss with their promotors and the director of their research centre/institute.
