Following his chemistry studies at Ecole Normale Supérieure (Paris, France), Kajetan Bijouard did his PhD at the Institut Parisien de Chimie Moléculaire of Sorbonne Université from 2018 to 2022 under the direction of Pr. Matthieu Sollogoub. His interest was towards the confinement of Lewis acids and bases within the cavity of cyclodextrins.

He accomplished a first post-doctoral stay at Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (Gif-sur-Yvette, France), under the direction of Dr. Thibault Cantat and of Dr. Lucile Anthore-Dalion. His work focused on amine formylation from CO2 hydrosilylation catalysed by confined carbenes.

He joined the Université de Namur in February 2023 in Pr. Guillaume Berionni’s group. His research is performed within the B-YOND ERC grant. He works on the synthesis of new catalysts, derivatives of bora- and phosphatriptycenes, for small molecule (CO2, CH4, N2…) activation and transformation.
