Intellectual property

"Employers and/or funders should ensure that researchers, at all stages of their careers, benefit from the exploitation (where appropriate) of their R&D results, through legal protection and in particular through adequate protection of intellectual property rights, including copyright.
Policies and practices should specify which rights accrue to researchers and/or, where appropriate, to their employers or other parties, including external commercial or industrial organisations, as may be provided for in specific collaborative or other types of agreements." (extract from the Charter for European researchers)
