Responsibilities

Responsabilities

"Researchers should be aware that they are accountable to their employers, funders or other related public or private bodies and are also accountable, on more ethical grounds, to society as a whole.

In particular, publicly funded researchers are also responsible for the effective use of taxpayers' money. Accordingly, they should adhere to the principles of sound, transparent and efficient financial management and cooperate in any audit of their research by authorized persons, whether undertaken by their employers/funders or by ethics committees.

The methods of data collection and analysis, the results and, where appropriate, the details of the data should be accessible for internal and external review, whenever necessary and upon request of the competent authorities. (extract from the Charter for European researchers)
