Business Administration Doctoral Seminars
THE seminars TAKE PLACE once A month on FRIDAYS FROM 12:45 to 14:00 IN ROOM CAMILLE JOSET, 4TH FLOOR.
The seminar is in principal limited to doctoral students in business administration. However, other PhD students are allowed to attend if interested. The aim is to discuss freely together. Jean-Yves Gnabo will be there to each session to offer academic feedback.
Principle
To make it accessible to PhD students at the early stage and interesting for those finishing their program, we propose three formats for the talk:
- Early stage work: It essentially aims to present your main idea and motivate your research questions. Such exercise can be very useful to fine-tune the orientation of researches at an early stage and get feedbacks/advises on various aspects of your future work such as suggestion of specific methodologies, motivation of the question, ...
→ 30 to 40 minutes presentation - Mid-stage work: You have completed your analysis and are in the drafting phase of your work or you already have a preliminary draft available. The seminar can be used as a way to present this work once internally before external presentation in conference/external seminar.
→ 60 minutes presentation with interruptions/questions from the audience - Completed work: You have a paper that is well rounded and is on the way to be submitted. For this type of presentation, two discussants can be asked to review your paper, ideally a junior and a senior.
→ 60 minutes presentation + 15 minutes discussion (this type of talk will finish at 14:00).
