The Arsenal (university canteen) offers fast, quality food, adapted to your budget in a pleasant atmosphere.

The Arsenal takes its role seriously in helping combat global warming, making good use of limited energy and water resources and promoting sustainable food production. It offers good food with a preference for local, seasonal production that is organic and economically sustainable.

The cafet

Located on the ground floor and open 12:00 to1:30, Every day it offers: sandwiches, soups, and pasta.

The restaurant

Up on the 1st floor, the self-service cafeteria is open 12:00 to 1:30, and each day offers low cost, healthy and varied dishes as well as fixed offering of hot and cold food.

The green line

On the ground floor you will also find the green self-service cafeteria, open from 12:00 to1:30. It is specialized in organic and vegetarian hot meals.

The organic and vegetarian hot meals are based on time tested traditional recipes, WITHOUT MEAT and containing certified organic ingredients. These are meals which replace refined food with whole foods of higher nutritional value and have no additives or chemical residues.

A food discount card is available to students. It gives up to 40% off on certain particularly healthy dishes that promote durable development. The inscription forms are available at the check-outs and on the website.

Restaurants and sandwich places

In the university district and its immediate area you have a wide choice among more than thirty restaurants or sandwich places.

Some prices in town:

  • A dago (long sandwich): starting from €2.50
  • Dish of the day: starting from €10

Markets and shops

The principal street market is held Saturday mornings, mainly in the university district. But other markets take place during the week at various areas of Namur:

  • Tuesdays from 8:00 to 1:00 - Salzinnes, place Louise Godin
  • Wednesdays from 12:00 to 6:30 - Train Station, place de la Station
  • Thursdays from 8:00 to 1:00 - Jambes, place de Wallonie
  • Fridays from 4:00 to 8:00 - La Plante, av. Félicien Rops (organic and farmer's market)

Many general food shops are also located near the university.

And if you are looking for "alternative" shops:
