Bachelor Programme
Art 108*
§ 1st. Except for the students in a higher education School of Arts, no one can sit the examinations of the Bachelor programme without proof of a sufficient mastery of the French language.
§ 2. This proof can be provided either by:
- the possession of a diploma, qualification or certificate of studies mentioned in Article 107 delivered in the French Community or sanctioning studies including sufficient studies in the French language; the Government establishes the minimum conditions which these studies must satisfy;
- succeeding an examination specifically organised for this purpose by the ARES (Academy of Research and Higher Education), according to the provisions adopted by the Government;
- succeeding an examination, test or entrance examination for higher education envisaged by this decree and organised in the French Community.
The ARES organises a test of mastery of the French language at least twice each academic year.
The written test will take place the 1st day of the sessions and the date of the oral test will be communicated to the applicant at this time.
The registration procedures for the French language proficiency examination are not yet known for the academic year 2023-2024. We invite you to consult this page again in June 2023 if you are concerned by this exam.
Master
Article 113*
§ 1st. No one can be admitted to Master studies where the objective is teaching or studies which would lead to teaching in upper secondary education (AESS) if they have not provided proof of a sufficient mastery of the French language.
The academic authorities determine the form and the organisation of this test, in respect of the missions fixed in Article 21.
The written test will take place the 1st day of the sessions and the date of the oral test will be communicated to the applicant at this time.
