OASIS states for Omnibus Animalibus Studia SanitatIS.

This refers to the use of animal models to study important and debilitating diseases in humans, such as osteoarthritis and intervertebral disk diseases. Osteoarticular diseases of companion animals (like dogs, cats and horses) are also studied.

OASIS is one of the research axis of the IVRU (Integrated Veterinary Research  Unit) of the Department of veterinary medicine, and is a membre of the Namur Research Institute for Life Sciences (NARILIS).

OASIS has access to the most sophisticated clinical, imaging and biomolecular techniques, sharing also collaborations with international specialists in Belgium and United Kingdom.
